Jensen Huang believes U.S. President Donald Trump rescued the AI industry from danger

The NVIDIA CEO made his first appearance on the “Joe Rogan Experience” podcast on December 3. On the show, Jensen Huang discussed the advancements in AI technology being made at NVIDIA, his rapport with SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, and the notion of energy policies by the Republican government of the United States.

Crediting U.S. President Donald Trump for the progress being made in the AI tech industry, Huang spoke about the pivotal role of the energy policies in connection with the AI race, technological developments, as well as its impact on employment in the country.

Jensen Huang said, “If United States doesn’t grow, we will have no prosperity, we can’t invest in anything domestically or otherwise, we can’t fix any of our problems. If we don’t have energy growth, we can’t have industrial growth. If we don’t have industrial growth, we can’t have job growth. It’s as simple as that.”

In this context, he spoke of U.S. President Donald Trump and his stance on the energy growth policies. He said, “The fact that he came into office and the first thing he said was, “Drill, baby, drill;” his point is we need energy growth. Without energy growth, we can have no industrial growth. And it saved the AI industry.”

Huang further stated the implications of not focusing on energy-oriented projects. He continued, “If not for his pro-growth energy policy, we would not be able to build factories or AI, we would not be able to build chip factories, we won’t surely be able to build supercomputer factories. None of that stuff would be possible without all of that.”

Connecting the question of unemployment with the dearth of policies and investments in energy, Huang said, “Construction jobs would be challenged and, you know, electrician jobs. All these jobs that are now flourishing will be challenged.” With this, the NVIDIA chief appreciated President Trump’s endeavor, saying, “So I think he has got it right. We need energy growth, we wanna reindustrialize United States, we need to be back in manufacturing.”

Another comment eaborated on the kind of implications the energy policies would have on the world market. Given the weight of Huang’s appreciation of the Trump administration, the tech industry in the U.S. could scale new heights with the support of the energy policy.

What goes without saying is that the American economy might orient more towards manufacturing and invest in R&D. This could be so that they are ahead in the AI race against, for instance, companies based in China that have been rapidly developing their AI models and systems.
