At CES 2026, Lisa Su, CEO of computing chip company AMD, opened up about how she anticipates the progress of AI technology. Having formerly expressed her disbelief in the AI bubble, Su has been vocal about the possibilities that AI tehnology is capable of fulfilling in the days to come.
An X (formerly Twitter) post featured a video snippet of Su’s keynote speech, highlighting her vision of an AI-driven world. The clip did not take much time to gain traction on social media, as it garnered over 11k views at the time of writing. However, the opinion is much divided regarding how justified Su’s views are about AI technology in the future.
Lisa Su talks about the potential of AI technology
The AMD CEO made a memorable appearance at CES 2026 during the company’s presentation. During the session, Lisa Su spoke of the possibilities people across the planet can anticipate as AI technology continues to advance at a faster pace.
A video clip of the session was uploaded by X user @JonhernandezIA on January 9. The video begins with Su making a remarkable comment on the nature of emerging technologies. She said, “This moment in tech not only feels different; AI is different.” She added, “AI is the most powerful technology ever been created, and it can be everywhere for everyone.”
Talking about the ongoing AI revolution in the industry, Su stated, “We are entering this era of yottascale computing where the deployment of more powerful models everywhere will require a massive increase in the amount of compute in the world.”
With this, she emphasized how AMD has been an influential factor in the industry. She said, “Meeting that demand, we’ll take abroad portfolio solutions from the largest systems in the cloud to AI PCs to embedded computing and just as important, it takes an open ecosystem built on industry standards.”
Highlighting AMD’s role in bringing forth “amazing technology” and “deep co-innovation” with powerful private partnerships, Su reiterated that the AI-driven world is not so distant as before. The clip concludes with the chief executive stating that the company focuses on making AI available “everywhere for everyone.”

Netizens respond to Lisa Su’s hopes for AI capabilities
X user @JonhernandezIA’s post about AMD CEO Lisa Su’s recent appearance at CES 2026 received significant attention from social media users. Raking over thousands of views since the day of its upload, the video has welcomed quite an array of reactions from netizens on the platform.
Some showed their support towards Su’s perception of the AI revolution. In fact, a handful of users expressed their enthusiasm regarding the upcoming innovations in the AI tech industry. One user in particular called the era “a new renaissance in computing.”
However, others were quite criticial of Su’s opinion on the world stepping into a yottascale era of computing. A netizen questioned the same, likening Su’s vision of the AI-driven world to Mark Zuckerberg’s hopes of building the Metaverse.
As per a BBC report from September 2023, the Metaverse push by the Facebook founder resulted in massive losses of over $20 billion. Given that those losses were triggered by the dearth of long-term returns, some users share a similar skepticism towards Su’s vision of an AI-driven world. As investments in AI continue to increase, tech leaders want to stay ahead in the race. This means, use cases of AI would have to go beyond computing.
