ARK Invest CEO Cathie Wood showers praise on Elon Musk’s initiatives
On June 5 this year, Steven Bartlett, the podcast host of “The Diary Of A CEO,” welcomed Cathie Wood to discuss about wealth generation, having a variegated portfolio, the future of automobiles and AI, and the potential of cryptocurrency investing.
During the conversation, Bartlett asked the ARK Invest CEO about her acquaintance with Elon Musk. To this, Wood hailed the Tesla chief for his innovative ideas and ways to make the world better one step at a time.
Wood said, “I think Elon Musk is the Thomas Edison of our age. I think he’s a very good person.” The ARK Invest chief executive went on to share her opinion on what Musk’s endeavors appear in her eyes, “I had to say one thing, he wants to do the right thing, to transform the lot of most of humanity.”
She then cites an anecdote of her personal encounter with Musk. She highlighted his enthusiasm about a certain idea that one of her associates in the company suggested, and how they eventually took part in a podcast to discuss it further.

Elon Musk responded to Cathie Wood’s remark
Cathie Wood appreciating Elon Musk’s efforts by calling him the “Thomas Edison of our time” was a compliment that impressed a lot of netizens on social media. Simultaneously, it may have left an indelible mark on the Tesla CEO as expressed his gratitude towards the ARK Invest chief. In his X post dated November 2025, Musk reposted that particular video clip of the interview and wrote in the caption, “Thanks @CathieDWood,” followed by a red heart emoji.

Although she made headlines recently for selling off some of their previously owned Tesla shares mid-November, Cathie Wood has been one of Musk’s biggest supporters. During one of her recent interactions with Bloomberg, Wood was asked about whether Elon Musk’s trillion dollar compensation package was a justified deal approved by the Tesla shareholders.
To this, Wood immediately spoke affirmatively. She stated that Tesla is the only company that has maintained a compound annual rate of growth for EBIDTA of 41 per cent for over a decade. Given the company’s record, she expressed her faith in the company’s financial success in the next ten years.
