(Video) Chinese CEO Puts $26 Million in Cash on Tables and Tells 7000 Employees, ‘Take What You Can’

At a time when most employees are haggling with their company’s HR departments over hikes and bonuses, only to be disappointed with the final offering, a Chinese company is setting a precedent for generous payouts driven by genuine concern for its employees. In fact, the CEO of the company made a garish display of hard cash — but it was all for a good cause.

Reportedly, the company had a profitable year, and the boss thought it was only fair that the workers receive enough to free themselves from the many debts they have been carrying on their shoulders.

Generous Chinese CEO puts it all on the table

The CEO of Henan Kuangshan Crane, Cui Peijun — a leading manufacturer and service provider of cranes and material-handling equipment — was in a compassionate mood after his company posted a net profit of about 270 million yuan.

He celebrated the company’s latest success with a thoughtful gesture, distributing about 180 million yuan (roughly $26 million) in year-end bonuses to its roughly 7,000 employees. Notably, Cui Peijun owns approximately 98.88% of the company’s shares.

On February 13, an annual gala was held where more than 60 million yuan was given out in cash on the spot.

Videos circulating on social media show cash spread across tables, with employees grabbing as many 100-yuan notes as possible within the allotted time. According to news reports, the ceremony allowed employees to take as much cash as they could count within a set time limit, after which they were invited on stage to tally their haul — and whatever amount they counted was theirs to keep. There was a huge hullabaloo in the venue, with some people packing wads of cash into suitcases, while others struggled to carry bundles of notes off the stage.

Explaining the reason behind such an ostentatious handout ceremony, Peijun said it was meant to help his company’s workers pay off car loans, mortgages, and other debts. “It’s not that I love giving out money. Young people today carry car loans and mortgages; any relief we can offer makes a difference,” he stated.

Notably, this isn’t the first time the company has paid massive bonuses to its employees. In 2024, after recording a net profit of about 260 million yuan, it distributed 170 million yuan among employees. The company also gave out 1.6 million yuan in bonuses to 2,000 female staff members during International Women’s Day last year.

Henan Kuangshan Crane’s cash-laden celebration stood out as a genuine show of concern for its employees’ plights. By sharing a substantial slice of profits, Peijun sent a clear message: when companies truly value their workers, they may go above and beyond expectations — and even surpass them.
