The richest man in the world by a country mile, Elon Musk’s net worth now stands at a flabbergasting $722 billion. The South African-born American might be well on course to becoming the 1st trillionaire soon.
While he is as focused and hard-working as any top entrepreneur, Elon Musk also has a keen interest in personal passions, most notably his collection of cars. Here is a look at Musk’s quite exhaustive car collection:

2008 Tesla Roadster
Arguably, Elon Musk’s most iconic car. One of the cars that was a part of his daily use hit the space in February 2018 as a test payload. Orbiting the sun in a heliocentric path, it’s already covered a boatload of miles. The car is expected to do the same for years before it eventually crashes into Earth or Venus.
1967 Jaguar E-Type Roadster
Considered Elon Musk’s childhood dream, the Jaguar E-Type Roadster from the 60s is loved by car enthusiasts. Musk is said to have bought this very early and owned it for several years.
1976 Lotus Esprit
This classic car is said to have been purchased by Musk at an auction back in 2013 for a staggering $1 million. The same car was featured in the James Bond film, The Spy Who Loved Me.
1920 Ford Model T
Yet another unique, vintage car in Musk’s diverse collection. This car is said to have been a gift from a friend.
1997 McLaren F1
This is a car Elon Musk previously owned. He purchased it in 1999, his first supercar. The video shared by CNN as a throwback, back in 2021, which shows a young Musk gleaming over his purchase, has over a million views now. The 1997 McLaren F1, a very rare car, was sold once it was badly dilapidated in an accident on Sand Hill Road back in 2000. Musk had actually lost control of the car, after trying to show off for Peter Thiel.
BMW M5
Tuned by Hamann Motorsport Specialists, this car was a beast. It could hit a whopping HP of 600, reaching speeds well over 300 km/h. There have been claims that this car influenced the Ludicrous Mode on Teslas.
Besides these, Musk has the obvious ones, from his very own Tesla, viz. Tesla Model S Performance, Tesla Cybertruck and Tesla Model Y.
