Sundar Pichai recently appeared on the Fox News Sunday segment with host Shannon Bream. During their interaction, the Google chief executive stated that the tech giant has been making significant progress in different avenues, ranging from their self-driving technology brand Waymo to taking big strides in software development in artificial intelligence.

In this context, Pichai stated, “We are working on quantum computing, in that spirit, one of our moon shots is to, how we one day have data centres in space so that we can better harness the energy from the sun.” The Google CEO added that the company intends to “put these data centers in space closer to the sun,” mentioning that they will take the “first step in 2027.“
Elon Musk took to his X account on December 9 to respond to Pichai’s plans at Google. The Tesla CEO reposted the video clip of the conversation, originally shared by the profile @BourbonCap, with the caption, “Interesting.” This caught the attention of netizens on social media, as networking platforms went abuzz with speculations pertaining to Google following a similar trajectory like SpaceX and Tesla under Elon Musk’s leadership.
