A ridiculous and entertaining event happened at the Art Basel Miami Beach this week when robot dogs took over an exhibition. However, these dogs did not have canine heads. Instead, they featured the replicas of the heads of prominent leaders such as Andy Warhol, Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Mark Zuckerberg, among others.
The video, uploaded by the artist Beeple on his Instagram account, has gone viral on social media. Viewers across the globe have been sharing hilarious comments as well as horrid reactions to the walking mechanical canine versions of renowned entrepreneurs.
Video of prominent entrepreneurs goes viral on social media
Mike Winkelmann, also known as Beeple, is a prominent contemporary artist. He recently made headlines with an unusual art work at the Art Basel Miami Beach this month. The art work consisted of a number of hyper realistic robot dogs.
However, these metallic canines had the replicas of the heads belonging to famous industry leaders. The list includes cultural icon Andy Warhol, Tesla CEO Elon Musk, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, and Meta chief Mark Zuckerberg, among others.

The original video, shared on Beeple’s official Instagram profile, features several on-lookers recording videos of the robot dogs walking about within a low glass-barricaded zone inside the Art Basel. The dogs appeared to be moving around within the zone, often sitting down on their mechanical limbs and excreting cards that featured NFT (Non-Fungible Token) illustrations.
Later, in another Instagram post, Beeple explained his art. Titled “Regular Animals,” the robot dogs excreted from their mechanical bodies prints that consisted of photos being constantly taken from their surroundings.
These images were then run through AI, resulting in final illustrations that reflect the perspective of each personality that has been duplicated as robot dogs. This ingenuity in commenting on the postmodernist take on the shift in culture over the past decades has won the internet’s approval since its upload.

Netizens react to viral video of industry leaders as robot dogs
This week, artist Mike Winkelmann, also known as Beeple, brought forth an interesting coalescence of AI, robotics, satire, and art at the Art Basel in Miami Beach. The robot dogs featuring the duplicates of Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg, etc., have gone viral on social media.
In an X post by the New York Post, a clip from Beeple’s art exhibition was featured. One user appreciated the artist’s critique of bringing together performance art and criticism of late stage capitalism.
late stage capitalism but make it performance art and I kind of love it

Another user, however, expressed their sheer horror of witnessing the humongous realistic heads atop the robot dogs, likening the idea to the infamous ‘Skibidi toilet’ meme.
Why does this seem like a weird skibidi riff… its disturbing.

The importance of the art work is not merely limited to the criticism of the individuals whose heads have been replicated for the event. It also captures the swift changes across art, entertainment, IT, and business that have significant impact on global cultures in past, present, and future as well.
